Since then, I've tries 'ceTwit' - OK so far !

depends on what particular handset you intend to get
1. HTC HD2 has a built in Twitter Client.
2. with HTC Touch HD and Touch Pro2 you have "twikini" application, search for it in XDA Dev, its a free application.
the three above mentioned handset are Windows based mobile, am not sure with Android ones like the Hero.
